An adult sized hoop is a revolutionary exercise tool. A hooper from THE HOOPING LIFE will demonstrate fun routines with an adult sized hoop that builds core strength while trimming you down and giving you a great cardio work out. Hoops will be provided.

Get an inside perspective about documentary filmmaking from the director’s point of view as well a one of her subjects. Hooping will be on display during this Q&A.
HOOP TROUPE EVENT: A HOOPING SPECTACULAR
A break-dancing, gravity-defying hula-hoop dance troupe takes over the
stage, catapulting hoops around their bodies in elaborate flips, tosses, jumps
and body rolls. A subculture shares its secrets in a theatrical show.
HOOPING MEDITATION:
Delve into an ecstatic movement practice of turning blissfully inward while sculpting and strengthening your physical body with hooping. Learn a daily practice that will forge a peaceful mind and body.
HOOPING FOR SOCIAL JUSTICE:
Life skills taught through movement, music and hooping. This seminar addresses social issues with positive solutions. Each character value comes with a hula hoop trick to learn. What do you do when there is bullying going on around you, or your find yourself turning into a bully? This workshop offers non-violent solutions to these problems. Enjoy a discussion of hooping sociology with School Ambassador Trainer, Tisha Marina followed by a physical hoping practice that incorporates the mind, body and spirit.
LGBT EVENT WITH KARIS:
After screening of the film, Karis will talk about his response to being discriminated against and bullied in high school for being different. He created an anti-violence after school group and later in life braved the audience on stage and on screen as he transforms from woman to man in front of thousands. He is the first boy to play a girl in a celebrated international advertising campaign. Karis’ fight for acceptance recently landed him a commercial for a major corporation where he plays a tranny. It will be aired on national television. Karis continues to develop his subversive burlesque performances on stages around the world.
